Brightness | Stella & Albert

Stella & Albert are getting married in a couple of weeks and they contacted me to get some engagement photos.

In our initial conversation, Stella said she wanted fun and colourful images with a little bit of quirkiness.

It was a challenge I chose to accept.

They sent though some ideas they had and I loved them all so I stepped outside my comfort zone a little and tried a few new things.

With the help of a bag of props, a change of clothes and a whole lot of energy, we wandered around the St Kilda Sea Baths on a balmy Friday evening for the shoot.

Stella & Albert, thanks for pushing my boundaries and choosing me to photograph this very special time in your lives.

I hope you have a fabulous wedding day!

This is an outtake... I was testing my lighting but it's one of my favourites.

And lastly, my favourite.

Garden Goodness | Leanne & Michael

There are a lot of things I wish I could do.

Play the bagpipes is one of them.

Now, I admit, it MIGHT be my love of Johnny Farnham’s ‘You’re the Voice’ with the bagpipe part in the middle, which is to blame for this.

When Leanne & Michael told me their wedding was going to be Scottish influenced I was excited. And then they told me there would be bagpipes. My smile was ear to ear.

Their wedding day didn’t disappoint.  Held at Nanga Gnulle Garden Sanctuary in Bendigo, there were colourful kilts, a celebrant in full Scotsman attire, a scotch sipping section in the ceremony and of course, the wonderful sound of the bagpipes echoing all day.

The sun was shining and you can just tell how happy they are together.

We laughed all day. I actually had to ask them to stop smiling so much for a couple of the photos and as soon as my shutter clicked, Leanne would crack up.

Leanne & Michael, I’ll leave you with my newly found Scottish (thanks google!)…

Lang may yer lum reek!

(For the not so Scottish inclined it means… May you live long and stay well)

The reception was held at the Bendigo Town Hall
