Love is blind.
You know the saying.
Well in Sharon & Steve’s case it’s not blind so much as, was a blind date.
Yep they were set up by a mutual friend and then endured a long distance relationship for a couple of years. He was in Geelong, she was in Cobram.
They broke all the “it can’t work” rules in the handbooks and look at them now!
I hadn’t met Sharon & Steve before their wedding but we’d chatted on the phone a few times and I was so excited to finally see them on their big day.
I got to meet the girls first. They were super excited and looked gorgeous. I always ask the bride how she thinks the groom will be and Sharon said Steve would be great. Might get teary but he won’t be too nervous.
Well he was. Very much so.
As soon as Sharon arrived though, he couldn't take his eyes off her. There’s not a girl in the world who doesn’t dream of a partner looking at them just like Steve looked at Sharon.
They were married on the rocks overlooking Torquay beach and after some photos and champagne, we headed to their reception at The Sands, Torquay.
I have to tell you about their cake. Oh the cake!
I could literally smell the little cupcakes from across the room. Buttery, baked goodness. I’ve photographed many cakes and this one had my mouth watering.
Thanks to Steve for letting me take one to eat on the way home. It tasted even better than it smelt.
Sharon & Steve, I’m honoured you chose me to photograph your wedding and I look forward to seeing you again soon. I hope Benson can make it then too!
